Helen Stephenson's Passionflower Pictures

This page contains clickable images.

Last year, Stephen took some cuttings from his Aunt Ellen's passionflower vine and planted them in a tub by our front door. They have really done well there, and this year the passionflower vine has been flowering since spring, and by the beginning of August, when these pictures were taken, the early fruit had changed colour, while the later fruit was still green, and there were yet more flowers opening up.

The pictures were scanned using the CanoScan FS2710 film scanner.

The first picture I want to show you is of the complete passionflower vine. It has been growing from three cuttings planted in a tub and has reached the porch roof and is now climbing towards the upstairs windows.

On the left is a close-up of the centre of a passionflower, while on the right are two flowers, one of which is being visited by a bee.

There is a second type of passionflower in our garden. It isn't such a vigorous plant as the one with the purple petals, and it's all white.
