Brighton is the South Coast resort made famous by the Prince Regent. The Bromley Camera Club had an official outing there in 2000. Unfortunately it rained for most of the day, but members still managed to find a variety of picture opportunities.

Bromley Camera Club went to Brighton in 2000 as one of their official club outings. It was a wet day, and I think I could probably get some better pictures of Brighton if I made another visit on a day when the weather was better, but here are the pictures I managed to take between showers of rain.

Brighton is famous for The Pavilion, which was the Prince Regent's residence. On the right I have captured part of the facade of the building, while on the left is the elaborate knob on the entrance gates to the palace. I made a mistake with my lens choice with this picture: I should have used a longer lens as the knocker is distorted here, and would not have been, had I used a telephoto lens.

When the rain had abated somewhat, I spent some time on the pier, where I got this picture of part of the ironwork railings and also pointed my camera at some of the funfair attractions.

This seagull was also snapped from a vantage point on the pier. The seagulls were sitting on some of the lamp posts along the pier: I may yet find a picture of a seagull on a lamp which is worth scanning!
